I have been making art my entire life. Growing up in Las Vegas, it was never a hobby, it was the end goal.

I studied Digital Media at the University of Nevada, Reno, minoring in Art History, and graduated in 2021 with a clearer sense of craft and a deeper question: what does it actually take to build a life as an artist? I came back home to find out.

The early years looked like vendor tables at First Friday in the Las Vegas Arts District, self-funded exhibitions, and a day job that kept the lights on while the work kept evolving. In 2024 I produced my first solo exhibition, “Perspectives”. Eleven original drawings, no outside funding, no guarantees. I didn’t sell a piece, but that wasn’t the point. I needed to know I could build a body of work and stand behind it in a room.

I proved that I could. Then I went further.

My most recent exhibition, Space Between, marked a full shift in medium, from drawing to acrylic painting, and a deeper commitment to the ideas that have always driven my work. The show consisted of ten original paintings exploring tension, transition, and the moments that resist resolution. Six of the ten sold.

My process is rooted in synesthesia — a perceptual phenomenon where sound triggers involuntary visual experience. Music, for me, generates imagery: colors, forms, movements that originate somewhere below conscious thought. I follow those images onto the canvas without a fixed destination. The work begins with an impulse and ends when it feels complete, not when it feels finished. That distinction matters.

What emerges tends to involve figures caught mid-transformation in forms of burning, dissolving, reaching, and running. Fire appears often in my work, not as symbol but as state: something between solid and gone, still holding a form it won’t keep for long. Landscapes shift between the grounded and the impossible. Scale breaks down. Scenes feel simultaneously familiar and wrong in ways that are difficult to name.

That difficulty is intentional. I want the work to slow people down and create the kind of looking that becomes feeling before it becomes thought. Whether that lands as unease, wonder, recognition, or something without a name, the goal is the same: to make something that stays with you after you’ve left the room.
